I started my full-time career in digital marketing following my service in the US Army. Whether it was my personality or my military training, I developed a deep desire to support and help small business owners take their businesses to the next level.

After a decade of servicing the small business community, my father asked me to join him in developing a marketing strategy that would transition his financial planning firm to service the next generation of family members. I took on the challenge and flew to Chicago to meet with one of the largest financial marketing organizations in the United States. I wanted to rebrand the company, and I wanted to do it right.

It wasn’t long before we launched a comprehensive educational workshop campaign that grew our business into five times its existing revenue for our current advisors. We quickly saw success, and it was exciting! With the numbers pouring in, our hopes and dreams soared. That is until the COVID-19 pandemic stopped us dead in our tracks. We went from conducting 24 workshops per year to absolutely nothing. It was heartbreaking, and we were more than a little concerned. What had been working so well for us completely came to a standstill with no hope in sight. We weren’t sure what to do, but we knew we had to do something.

We spent the next few months working overtime to pivot our way back into digital marketing. I remember saying that word repeatedly: “pivot.” We weren’t about to give up, but we had to make a change. After 5 months and over $65k, we hit on it – the secret recipe to virtual sales. Using my experience together with some of the industry’s greatest mentors, we finally figured out how to convert digital marketing into sales. After taking on a beta test of 12 new advisors, I realized that we had a replicable process that could help transform unlimited advisors across North America. We had our hope and our drive back.

What’s the secret? Simple.
